Reggie Holladay was born in Virginia and moved to Hollywood, Florida at a young age and
spent his teenage years in the Fort Pierce area. After attending the
Ft. Lauderdale Art Institute, the
Fort
Lauderdale News
"took a chance on him" and hired him as an illustrator, preparing him for a later stint at
the
Miami Herald. Encouraged by the freedom weekend freelance work afforded, Reggie struck out on his own,
a decision he's never regretted. Now a
full time illustrator artist, Reggie relishes taking his time on a
piece, dropping the brush only when he's
completely satisfied,
and not under the demands of an art director. He
weathered the change computers brought to the graphic arts industry through the '90s and still works
traditionally,
illustrating children's books and producing original works from his home in
Satellite Beach.
Reggie's works are inspired by his
love and passion for surfing. If there is a good swell, you will always
find him enjoying the
surf.
